Prof. Timothy Short, at the annual QC Biology graduation ceremony<\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/p>\n Welcome to Biology at Queens College!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Our research spans the \u201cskin-in\u201d approach of molecular, cell, and developmental (MCD) biology and \u201cskin-out\u201d approach of ecology, evolution, and behavior (EEB).<\/p>\n Our faculty members teach in their areas of expertise and offer new courses and other educational opportunities for our students.<\/p>\n We host academic and social events, such as our weekly Colloquium, an annual Research Symposium, and regular social hours and \u201cdata talks\u201d by our researchers.<\/p>\n Students have many opportunities to get involved in the research being done in our vibrant labs and can apply for merit-based departmental scholarships and awards.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text ul_position=”inside” admin_label=”what we offer” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ text_font=”Open Sans||||||||” text_text_color=”#000000″ text_font_size=”16px” background_color=”rgba(0,0,0,0)” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n The Department’s excellent research facilities include the Core Facility for Imaging, Cellular and Molecular Biology, well-equipped research labs, a greenhouse, animal facilities, a cold-room, environmental control units, marine and fresh-water aquaria, scanning and transmission electron microscopes, and ample computer access.<\/p>\n Opportunities are enhanced through affiliations and collaborations with other city institutions, other divisions of CUNY, and the American Museum of Natural History.<\/p>\n Queens College is near many biodiversity habitats, including fields, forests, ponds, streams, salt marshes, and coastal and marine areas.<\/p>\n Our degree programs include: two Bachelor of Arts<\/strong> tracks<\/a> (<\/span>Biology<\/strong> and <\/span>Biology-Education<\/strong>) and a <\/span>Master of Arts<\/strong><\/a> (MA).
