Capra<\/h3>\n<p>Classical Studies Program Coordinator<\/p>\n<p>Queens Hall, Room 345F2<br \/>Phone: 718-997-5426<br \/><a href=\"mailto:rcapra@qc.cuny.edu\">rcapra@qc.cuny.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>PhD, Fordham University, 2010<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Capra&#8217;s research is two-fold, focusing on Greek Literature and on the culture and history of Greco-Roman Spain.\u00a0 He is interested in ancient and medieval poetry and how it has shaped cultural perceptions of its own period and those of the modern era. His research on Greco-Roman Spain deals with urbanization and the relationship between cultural production and identity. He is presently working on a book about the development of ancient Tarraco (modern day Tarragona, Catalunya).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teaching<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Capra teaches Ancient Greek and Latin language and literature in addition to Classics courses taught in English, most frequently CLAS 150 \u2018Greek and Latin Classics in Translation.\u2019 He is the instructor for courses on Ancient Greek and Roman Religion, Ancient Epic and Tragedy, as well as the capstone class for Classics (CLAS 300) which is an intensive study of a particular aspect of Classical Studies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Selected Publications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Life of St. Neilos the Younger of Rossano<\/em>.
