Our large, fully equipped scene shop is adjacent to the stage right wing of the Goldstein Theatre.\u00a0 Access from the shop to the theatre is via a 12 foot high roll up door, making it very easy to transport scenery directly onto the stage.\u00a0 The spacious shop has all the major power and hand tools necessary\u00a0for scenic construction as well as a large work table which serves as both a workspace and teaching area.\u00a0\u00a0On Friday mornings, the shop serves as the\u00a0classroom for the Intro. to Technical Theatre class,\u00a0in which students receive both theoretical and\u00a0hands on training in all aspects of technical theatre.\u00a0The shop is\u00a0also\u00a0equipped with a\u00a0standard height loading dock which can accommodate up to two trucks at a time.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

All scenery for the\u00a0Department of Drama, Theatre, & Dance productions\u00a0is built in the scene shop by our\u00a0students under the supervision of our staff\u00a0Technical Director.\u00a0 This is an opportunity for students to develop the skills and get the hands on training necessary\u00a0for the <\/span><\/p>\n

process of\u00a0scenic construction.\u00a0 Students will get experience using various construction materials including wood, steel, and styrofoam.<\/p>\n

Page Content\n\nDance Studios\n\"\"\n<\/strong>Our two dance studios are located on the first floor of Rathaus Hall.\u00a0 They serve as classroom space for ourdance classes<\/a>as well as rehearsal space for all pieces in our two annual dance shows.\u00a0 Each studio is equipped with its own sound system, a wall of mirrors opposite a wall of windows allowing for lots of natural light, ballet barres, and a sprung hardwood floor which was installed by our former technical director, John Darren.\u00a0\u00a0 The floor in studio A is fully covered with a marley dance floor making it ideal for modern, jazz, and ballet, African, and Asian dance.\u00a0 Studio B does not have a marley covering, making it ideal for tap dancing and suitable for modern, jazz, African, and Asian dance.\u00a0 Between the two studios is a small lounge area where our dance majors gather to relax, study, socialize, etc.\u00a0 Just outside the studios are lockers which are assigned to dance majors for storing their dance clothes, shoes, and books.<\/td>\n<\/td>\n\n\n\n\n
