Mental health conditions affect someone’s cognitive, behavioral, and emotional wellbeing.
These conditions may include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts, schizophrenia, and addictive behaviors.
Youth with mental health problems were more likely to perceive a need for services related to housing and case management than those addressing behavioral health problems more directly.
Suicidal thoughts and attempts have been associated with youth of histories of physical and/or sexual abuse, familial substance abuse, and familial psychopathology.
