About Us
CUNY Service Corps: Nine group photos in rows of three.

Welcome to the CUNY Service Corps at Queens College!

We are a community of students, staff and faculty members dedicated to serving our city. We support projects that improve the short and long-term civic, economic and environmental sustainability of New York City. We accomplish this goal by partnering with local community organizations and government agencies that work every day to better the lives of people across the five boroughs of New York City. Every year since 2013, we recruit, select, empower and send out our Queens College students to help and serve their own communities.

We strive to offer you and every Queens College student the opportunity to embody our own campus’ motto: Discimus ut serviamos: “We learn so we may serve.” Service Corps members commit to a year-long paid experiential learning program, in which they work under the supervision and mentorship of our community and faculty partners. Our Service Corps members also engage in thoughtful reflection to develop professional and interpersonal skills via monthly training sessions, semesterly small group and individual meetings.

Here at Queens College, we are proud to be one of the founding members involved in this important collaboration, which includes seven other CUNY colleges.

Vision and Mission: To provide students with experience in civic engagement which their actions will positively benefit a community. To show that CUNY students are equipped with dedication and passion to help a community prosper.
