Morena Corradi is Associate Professor of Italian at Queens College. She holds a Laurea in Modern Languages and Literatures from the University of Bologna, a MA in Italian from the University of Washington, and a PhD in Italian Studies from Brown University. Her research interests are 19th-century fantastic literature and theory, nationalism, cultural studies, 19th-century printed media, narrative theory. Her teaching areas include 19th and 20th century Italian literature, contemporary Italian culture and society, nation-building. She is the author of articles on the Milanese Scapigliatura, and on post-unification political and literary journals. She has published the monograph\u00a0Spettri d\u2019Italia: scenari del fantastico nell\u2019Italia postunitaria (Longo Editore, 2016)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Anthony Julian Tamburri is Dean of the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute (Queens College, CUNY) and Distinguished Professor of European Languages and Literatures. He is co-founder and co-director of Bordighera Press with Fred Gardaph\u00e9 and Paolo Giordano, which is now an official entity of the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute. Tamburri served as president of the Italian American Studies Association and of the American Association of Teachers of Italian. Concentrating on semiotics, the literature and cinema of Italy and its diaspora, and interpretation theory, he has authored twenty-three books, long and short, in both English and Italian, and more than 140 peer-reviewed essays and book chapters. His books within the past five-plus years include Signing Italian\/American Cinema: A More Focused Look<\/em> (2021); A Politics of [Self-]Omission: The Italian\/American Challenge in A Post-George Floyd Age<\/em> (2022); Expanding Diasporic Identity: A Multi-directional Path to the New <\/em>Italian Writer<\/em> (2025); Gli americani italiani: cultura e societ\u00e0<\/em>. Elena Luongo is a Substitute Assistant Professor of Italian in the Department of European Language and Literature at Queens College, CUNY.\u00a0 She earned her PhD in Italian at Johns Hopkins University. She has taught surveys of Italian literature from the Middle Ages to the present, courses on Italian culture, and contemporary Italian literature.\u00a0 She served as the Italian Language Coordinator at UMass (Amherst).\u00a0She teaches all levels of Italian from beginner to advanced, in face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hermann W. Haller is Professor of Italian at Queens College and at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. He received his doctoral degree from the University of Bern, after studying Romance Philology, Italian and French language and literature at the Universities of Bern, Florence, Paris. He is the author of\u00a0Der deiktische Gebrauch des Demonstrativums im Altitalienischen<\/em>\u00a0(1973),\u00a0Il Panfilo veneziano. Edizione critica con introduzione e glossario<\/em>\u00a0(1982),\u00a0The Hidden Italy. A Bilingual Edition of Italian Dialect Poetry<\/em>\u00a0(1986),\u00a0Una lingua perduta e ritrovata: l’italiano degli italo-americani<\/em>\u00a0(1993),\u00a0The Other Italy: the literary canon in dialect<\/em>\u00a0(1999),\u00a0La Festa delle Lingue. La Letteratura dialettale in Italia<\/em>\u00a0(2002),\u00a0Tra Napoli e New York. Le macchiette italoamericane di Eduardo Migliaccio\u00a0<\/em>(2006), the critical edition of John Florio’s\u00a0A Worlde of Wordes<\/em>\u00a0(2013), and of more than one hundred articles, book chapters, and reviews. His research interests are mainly in Italian linguistics, the relations between language and literature, Italian dialect literature. He was a NEH fellow (1994-95), and received the International Dino Campana Award (1990) and the Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione MLA Publication Award (1998). He was elected in 2006 as a Member of the Accademia della Crusca (Socio Corrispondente Straniero).<\/p>\n
