Advising Technology<\/span><\/h3>\n

Queens College utilizes several key technologies throughout the advising workflow, including CUNYfirst, DegreeWorks, QC Navigate (EAB), and T-REX. This section includes information about campus advising platforms, including quick links for login, how to gain access, and how to leverage the strengths of each platform in support of more successful advising sessions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Faculty who are new to the advisor role or advisors who are requesting additional or renewed access should follow the steps below:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To gain access<\/span> to any advising technology platforms in use at Queens College [e.g., QC Navigate (EAB), CUNYfirst, Degreeworks], you must request access via QCHub Fresh Service (support.qc.cuny.edu):<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0Visit the <\/span>CUNY Security Website<\/span><\/a> and download the necessary form(s) for your request. The website will have the latest versions of forms.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    \u00a0All forms will require employee information\/sign off, managerial information\/sign off, and campus-level approvals. Once the employee and manager have completed adding their information and signed, the form can be submitted for approval.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    \u00a0Form submission starts with visiting <\/span>Forms \u2013 (Faculty & Staff Use Only) : Queens College Helpdesk (cuny.edu)<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    \u00a0Login using your CUNYfirst credentials<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    \u00a0Select the \u201cSystems Access Request\u201d option from the \u201cCategory\u201d dropdown menu<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. Type your request\/inquiry in the Description box. If you have any questions about the form you can add them here as well. (i.e. \u2013 you are not sure which service indicators are needed to complete the SACR data permissions)<\/li>\n
  7. Click \u201cAttach a file\u201d and upload your form<\/li>\n
  8. Click \u201cPlace Request\u201d<\/li>\n
  9. Check your inbox for confirmation that the request was received<\/li>\n
  10. You will be alerted via email once the request is approved<\/li>\n
  11. The campus Application Security Liaison (ASL) will be assigned the ticket and perform role provisioning. Any escalation to CIS or University-level approvers will be handled by the ASL.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note: The Applications Security Liaison Team (ASL) is led by WayGuard Wong and Jason Kong. They can be reached via the ITS Ticketing System.<\/span><\/p>\n

    DegreeWorks<\/a> is an online advising tool designed to help undergraduate<\/em> students and advisors review an individual\u2019s progress toward a Queens College degree. DegreeWorks takes an undergraduate student\u2019s academic record from CUNYfirst and organizes it so you and the student can see completed and impending degree requirements by category. Be sure to check DegreeWorks alongside your departmental requirements – discrepancies do occur.<\/span><\/p>\n
