If your F-1 status is currently &#8216;SEVIS Active&#8217; at another institution in the U.S., you may be able to transfer your SEVIS record from your current school to Queens College. The SEVIS <strong><u>transfer in<\/u><\/strong> is for immigration purposes only and is\u00a0<strong>completely separate<\/strong>\u00a0from transferring academic credits to the university.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong><u>QUEENS COLLEGE SEVIS SCHOOL CODE:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The City University of New York Queens College<\/p>\n<p>NYC214F00812015<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Eligibility for SEVIS Transfer<\/h2>\n<p><strong>F-1 STUDENTS:<\/strong>\u00a0You will be eligible for a SEVIS transfer if you meet\u00a0<em><strong>all<\/strong><\/em><strong><u>\u00a0of<\/u><\/strong> the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You have continually maintained F-1status at your current school (e.g. no status violations)<\/li>\n<li>You are currently in SEVIS &#8216;Active&#8217; F-1 status (this includes periods of post-completion OPT) and have continually maintained status for the duration of your F-1 program.<\/li>\n<li>NOTE: We cannot accept &#8216;Completed&#8217; or &#8216;Terminated&#8217; SEVIS records.<\/li>\n<li>Your Queens College program begins within 5-months of your current I-20 end date or F-1 OPT EAD end date.<\/li>\n<li>You have been accepted to Queens College<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Advantages to Transferring\u00a0your SEVIS record<\/h2>\n<p>There are several advantages to transferring your SEVIS record, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You keep your current SEVIS ID number and F-1 record<\/li>\n<li>You do not have to pay the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ice.gov\/sevis\/i901\">SEVIS FEE<\/a> again<\/li>\n<li>If your F-1 visa is still valid, you can continue to use it until its expiration date.\u00a0 It is OK if your old school&#8217;s name is on your visa<\/li>\n<li>You will be allowed to remain in the U.S. or travel in and out of the U.S. in between programs<\/li>\n<li>You are not subject to the 30-day entry restriction (entering no earlier than 30 days before your program starts) and can enter the U.S. at any point before your program<\/li>\n<li>You can participate in any pre-program activities before your start date, as long as you have electronically <strong>checked in<\/strong> to ISS office with your Queens College I-20.<\/li>\n<li>On-campus employment: you are eligible to engage in on-campus employment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>SEVIS Transfer Timing<\/h2>\n<p><strong>F-1 Students:<\/strong><br \/>ISS must receive your transferred record within\u00a0<strong>60 days<\/strong> of your I-20 end date or F-1 OPT EAD end date.
