The Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Program\u00a0offers two options for those applicants who have already obtained a bachelor\u2019s degree and wish to take courses that are required for application to Graduate School in Speech-Language Pathology:<\/p>\n

To be eligible to apply, students must have had a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in their first BA. Applications are accepted throughout the year and are reviewed for acceptance on a rolling basis.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Tracks and Courses” open=”off” _builder_version=”4.27.7″ _module_preset=”default” body_font_size=”16px” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n See Course Descriptions<\/strong>\u00a0on the CSD website:<\/strong> For ALL 2nd BA students:\u00a0<\/strong> In addition to the courses listed below, graduate schools in Speech-Language Pathology require students to have taken courses in statistics, biological sciences, and physical sciences (Chemistry or Physics).<\/p>\n Please check the websites of any graduate programs you are interested in to see if there are additional admission requirements.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n There are some differences between the courses required for the 2nd BA Prerequisites Only Track (Option A) and the 2nd BA full degree track (Option B).<\/p>\n The 2nd BA Prerequisites Only (Option A) Track does not require students to take LCD 105 and LCD 316).<\/p>\n Completion of the 2nd BA Prerequisites only (Option A) Track takes 3 to 4 semesters.<\/p>\n Students\u00a0do not<\/u><\/strong> receive a degree when they complete the 2nd BA pre-requisite only course sequence.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n Courses follow the same sequence as required of the undergraduate CSD majors.<\/em><\/p>\n Completion of the CSD major courses for the 2nd BA Full Degree Track often takes about 4 to 5 semesters.<\/p>\n Students\u00a0do<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0receive a 2nd BA degree when they complete the required coursework.<\/p>\n Courses that can be taken any time: 12-13 credits:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n First Level: 15 credits<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n No pre-requisites required for the following classes<\/em>.<\/p>\n Enrollment in LCD 207 AND LCD 208 in the same semester is not recommended.<\/em><\/p>\n Certain minimum grades must be reached to continue to second level courses. (See below).<\/em><\/p>\n<\/td>\n First Level: 9 credits<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n In order to enroll in Second Level classes, students must obtain a 3.0 or above GPA average across<\/u> these 3 100 level courses.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n One<\/u>\u00a0course retake allowed<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Second Level: 14 credits<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n It is recommended that if students receive a grade lower than a C- in a 300-level course,\u00a0 you retake this course.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/td>\n Second Level: 9 credits<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Must obtain a B- in\u00a0each<\/u> class in order to enroll in Third Level courses. <\/em><\/p>\n One<\/u> course retake allowed.<\/em><\/p>\n Enrollment in LCD 207 AND LCD 208 in the same semester is not recommended.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n Third Level: 17 credits<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Third Level classes require a minimum of 2 semesters to complete<\/em>.<\/p>\n No grade lower than a C- in any Third Level class will not count toward this major<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n To become more familiar with the fields of speech-language pathology, we highly recommend that you refer to the ASHA.org website (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association).
