_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;16px&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Program\u00a0offers two options for those applicants who have already obtained a bachelor\u2019s degree and wish to take courses that are required for application to Graduate School in Speech-Language Pathology:<\/p>\n<p>Students who have an undergraduate degree in another field (related or unrelated to Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology) and who would like to change career paths can choose either of our<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>2nd BA Program options listed below.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Option A \u2013 2nd BA Prerequisites Track<\/strong>\u00a0(minimum of 29 Credits, no degree awarded)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Option B \u2013 2nd BA Full Degree Track<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>(minimum of 30 Credits plus 12 credits outside the CSD major taken at QC, grants a second BA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students accepted into the program will choose either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Option A \u2013 Complete\u00a0<\/strong>a sequence of courses in the Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) major that are required for entry into any master\u2019s program in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.<br \/>Total of 29 credits (plus additional courses needed for graduate school, such as Statistics).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Or<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Option B \u2013<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>Complete the full undergraduate curriculum in CSD.<br \/>Total of 47 credits ( All 30 credits must be taken at Queens College.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=&#8221;https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/admissions\/apply-to-queens-college\/&#8221; To be eligible to apply, students must have had a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in their first BA. Applications are accepted throughout the year and are reviewed for acceptance on a rolling basis.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once matriculated into the program, each student will participate in advisement with their assigned CSD Faculty Academic Advisor.<\/li>\n<li>If accepted into the program, it is highly recommended that all the prerequisite classes be completed at Queens College.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Tracks and Courses&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.7&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; body_font_size=&#8221;16px&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><strong>See Course Descriptions<\/strong><strong>\u00a0on the CSD website:<\/strong><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/academics\/lcd\/undergraduate-course-descriptions\/\" role=\"link\">https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/academics\/lcd\/undergraduate-course-descriptions<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>For ALL 2nd BA students:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>Students are departmentally enrolled in two or three CSD courses a semester. Prior to registration student will receive a course request form to complete and return to the CSD department.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the courses listed below, graduate schools in Speech-Language Pathology require students to have taken courses in statistics, biological sciences, and physical sciences (Chemistry or Physics).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please check the websites of any graduate programs you are interested in to see if there are additional admission requirements.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table border=\"1\" width=\"100%\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"6\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\"><strong>Option A:<\/strong><br \/><strong><u>2nd BA Prerequisites Track<\/u><\/strong><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\"><strong>Option B:<\/strong><br \/><strong><u>2nd BA Full Degree Track<\/u><\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"307\">\n<p>There are some differences between the courses required for the 2nd BA Prerequisites Only Track (Option A) and the 2nd BA full degree track (Option B).<\/p>\n<p>The 2nd BA Prerequisites Only (Option A) Track does not require students to take LCD 105 and LCD 316).<\/p>\n<p>Completion of the 2nd BA Prerequisites only (Option A) Track takes 3 to 4 semesters.<\/p>\n<p>Students\u00a0<strong><u>do not<\/u><\/strong> receive a degree when they complete the 2nd BA pre-requisite only course sequence.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"305\">\n<p>Courses follow the same sequence as required of the undergraduate CSD majors<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Completion of the CSD major courses for the 2nd BA Full Degree Track often takes about 4 to 5 semesters.<\/p>\n<p>Students\u00a0<strong><u>do<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0receive a 2nd BA degree when they complete the required coursework.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Courses that can be taken any time: 12-13 credits:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PSYCH 214<\/li>\n<li>STATISTICS: DATA 205, or PSYCH 107.1 and 107.3, or MATH 114 or MATH 114W.<\/li>\n<li>BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE: One course<\/li>\n<li>PHYSICAL SCIENCE: One course PHYSICS or CHEMISTRY preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"307\">\n<p><strong><u>First Level: 15 credits<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>No pre-requisites required for the following classes<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>LCD 106 \u2013 Introduction to Neurodiversity &amp; Communication Disorders in Children &amp; Adults<\/li>\n<li>LCD 110 \u2013 Phonetics<\/li>\n<li>LCD 207 \u2013 Anatomy &amp; Physiology for Speech &amp; Language<\/li>\n<li>LCD 208 \u2013 Hearing Science<\/li>\n<li>LCD 216 \u2013 Language Acquisition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Enrollment in LCD 207 AND LCD 208 in the same semester is not recommended.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Certain minimum grades must be reached to continue to second level courses.
