Her most recent book, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Voice, Slavery, and Race in Seventeenth-Century Florence<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (Oxford University Press, 2023), was the winner of the 2024 Judy Tsou Award from the American Musicological Society and of the 2025 Phyllis Goodhart Gordan Book Prize for the best book in Renaissance studies from the Renaissance Society of America. She has also published <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lesbian\/Opera: Elena Kats-Chernin\u2019s <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Iphis <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Matricide: The Musical (Lyrebird Press, 2022); and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Seventeenth-Century Opera and the Sound of the Commedia dell\u2019Arte<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (University of Chicago Press, 2016). A collection of essays, co-edited with Suzanne G. Cusick, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Acoustemologies in Contact: Sounding Subjects and Modes of Listening in Early Modernity<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (Open Book Press, 2021) is available via open access. Dr. Wilbourne\u2019s articles have appeared in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Journal of the American Musicological Society<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Women &amp; Music<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Recercare<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Teatro e storia<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Italian Studies<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ITER<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Echo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Workplace<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, as well as in several <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oxford Handbooks<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. In 2011, Dr. Wilbourne was awarded the Philip Brett Award for excellence in queer music scholarship for her article, \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Amor nello specchio<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (1622): Mirroring, Masturbation, and Same-Sex Love\u201d; in 2017-18, she was the Francesco De Dombrowski Fellowship at the Harvard University Center for Renaissance Studies at Villa I Tatti in Florence. From 2017-2021 she was Editor-in-Chief of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Women &amp; Music: A Journal of Gender and Culture<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
