Biographical Information: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Gilad Rabinovitch is Associate Professor of Music Theory at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College. He has published widely on eighteenth-century phrase schemata and historical improvisation, among other topics. His work has appeared in journals including <\/span>Music Theory Online<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Music Theory Spectrum<\/span><\/i>, and the <\/span>Journal of Music Theory<\/span><\/i>. He is the recipient of a 2023 Emerging Scholar Award from the Society for Music Theory for an article on Carl Czerny and improvisation. He has presented at various music-studies conferences and has given invited talks at institutions including Michigan State University, Northwestern University, the University of Montreal, and the University of Texas at Austin. He is working on a book project tentatively titled <\/span>Tracing Improvisation in Nineteenth-Century Piano Music\u2014-<\/span><\/i>following paths to reimagining the sounds of improvisation in this period.<\/span><\/p>\n
