His performances have been aired over radio broadcasts throughout Europe and the US, and his appearances at major venues include New York’s Town Hall, Weill Hall, Merkin Hall, 92nd Street Y, and Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. Pirone is internationally recognized and acclaimed for his scholarly research and world premiere recordings of music by the Polish composer Karol Rathaus (1895-1954), including the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 45. (London Symphony Orchestra, Koch International.) A proponent of 20th century music, he has premiered many new works, and in addition to Koch, has recorded for CRI, Heritage, Capstone and Grenadilla Records.<\/p>\n Professor Pirone has been a member of the adjunct performance faculty at ACSM for several years, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate performance majors and Piano Pedagogy. He also heads the Piano, Chamber and Conservatory Divisions at The Center for Preparatory Studies in Music. Professor Pirone’s students have won prizes and awards in various competitions, including the 2006 International Piano Competition at Ettlingen, Germany, and grand prize winner at the MTNA Senior and Young Artist Piano Competition.<\/p>\n
