Biographical Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Praised for his “creative, extravagant, and affective staging,” Alex Paul Sheerin is a stage director based on Long Island, NY, and is currently the Director of Opera at Queens College (Aaron Copland School of Music), as well as the Artistic Director of Hofstra Opera Theater at Hofstra University. Alex was the young artist director in residence at Indianapolis Opera where he directed Puccini\u2019s <\/span>Madama Butterfly<\/span><\/i> as well as several virtual programs including<\/span> The Three Little Hoosier Pigs<\/span><\/i>, an opera for children. Credits include: <\/span>The Little Prince<\/span><\/i> (Opera North), <\/span>Orpheus in the Underworld <\/span><\/i>(Quisisana), <\/span>Romeo et Juliette <\/span><\/i>(Quisisana), <\/span>Don Giovanni <\/span><\/i>(Music on Site), <\/span>H\u00e4nsel und Gretel<\/span><\/i> (Queens College),<\/span> Alcina<\/span><\/i> (Queens College), <\/span>Die Fledermaus <\/span><\/i>(Music On Site and Quisana) <\/span>Rigoletto<\/span><\/i> (Opera North), <\/span>Carmen<\/span><\/i> (Opera North), <\/span>A Little Night Music<\/span><\/i> (Quisisana),<\/span> Cosi Fan Tutte<\/span><\/i> (Hofstra University, Music On Site), <\/span>The Medium<\/span><\/i> (Chicago Summer Opera). Alex has received several awards from the National Opera Association, including their directing Fellowship, and an award for his production of <\/span>The Turn of the Screw.<\/span><\/i> Alex\u2019s 2025-26 season will include new productions of <\/span>La Cenerentola<\/span><\/i> (Queens College), <\/span>Le Nozze di Figaro <\/span><\/i>(Music on Site, Hofstra University), and <\/span>Street Scene<\/span><\/i> (Queens College).<\/span><\/p>\n
