He is adept both vocally and dramatically in a wide range of baritone roles across opera, operetta, and musical theatre. A champion of new works, he is also a frequent concert soloist and recitalist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0This past Fall, Mr. Wannigman performed a Celebration of Gershwin Classics with New Rochelle Opera, marking the 100th anniversary of George and Ira Gershwin&#8217;s collaborations. He also returned to the Queens College Choral Society, under the baton of Dr. James John, to sing as the baritone soloist for Vaughan Williams\u2019 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dona Nobis Pacem<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and Joseph Haydn\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lord Nelson Mass<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0His recent opera roles include Don Giovanni in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Don Giovanni<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with Off Brand Opera and Silvio in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pagliacci<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with Regina Opera. This summer, he returned to New Rochelle Opera, singing operatic highlights to commemorate their 40th Season Anniversary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Mr. Wannigman&#8217;s 2023-24 engagements featured significant role debuts as Dr. Falke in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Die Fledermaus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and Alfio in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cavalleria Rusticana<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with New Rochelle Opera and Regina Opera, respectively. He also created the role of Holofernes in the <\/span><b>World Premiere<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Yehudit<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at New York City&#8217;s historic Temple Emanu-El.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Other notable performances include his <\/span><b>Carnegie Hall debut<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> as the bass soloist in Marianna von Martines\u2019 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dixit Dominus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with the Cecilia Chorus of New York, and the title role of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Don Giovanni<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with Long Island Lyric Opera. He performed as Calm\/Hiddenfolk Ensemble in the new opera theatre work <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Iceland<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at La MaMa Experimental Theatre and participated in the workshop of Paola Prestini\u2019s new opera <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sensorium Ex<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with Beth Morrison Projects. Mr. Wannigman was also the baritone soloist for Brahms\u2019 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ein deutsches Requiem<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with the Queens College Choral Society. Further recent performances include Ed Wall in the <\/span><b>Southeastern Premiere<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of Frances Pollock\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stinney<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All is Calm<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with Opera North, Andrews in the <\/span><b>World Premiere<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stonewall<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> by Iain Bell with New York City Opera, and the <\/span><b>East Coast Premiere<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> as Stanley in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bound<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> by Huang Ruo with Fresh Squeezed Opera.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Since 2021, Mr. Wannigman has been a member of the voice faculty at Queens College CUNY. He is also a Vocal Mentor for ArtSmart, a successful non-profit that provides free one-to-one music lessons to underfunded schools and communities.
