Davis joined the faculty of the Aaron Copland School of Music in 2016. He\u00a0designs and teaches music education classes in Guitar Methods, Creative Techniques, Composing and Arranging for School Ensemble, Secondary General Music Methods, and Modern Band pedagogy. Eric formerly served as Distinguished Scholar of Guitar and Music Industry of the Fred and Dinah Gretsch School of Music at Georgia Southern University.<\/p>\n<p>Eric B. Davis is a versatile New York freelance musician and educator active in multiple genres<br \/>\nfrom classical to commercial. Recent projects include Lincoln Center\u2019s 2025 revival of Ragtime,<br \/>\nThe Gardens of Anuncia, Broadway\u2019s New York, New York, and the lead guitarist on Broadway\u2019s<br \/>\nJagged Little Pill. In all, Eric has played on over 20 Broadway shows including Pulitzer-Prize<br \/>\nwinning Next to Normal, Matilda the Musical, the 2011 revival of Anything Goes, among others.<br \/>\nSince 2012, he has been Kristin Chenoweth\u2019s touring guitarist in dozens of cities and venues<br \/>\nwhich include The Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, The<br \/>\nMetropolitan Opera House in New York City, and \u201cThe Wonderful World of Disney: Magical<br \/>\nHoliday Celebration\u201d which aired on ABC and Disney+.<\/p>\n<p>Performance credits include concerts with The New York Philharmonic, Orchestra of St. Luke\u2019s,<br \/>\nthe Tony Awards orchestra, television performances on The View, The Today show, Good<br \/>\nMorning America, Steven Colbert, Morning Joe, and David Letterman. He contributed to the<br \/>\nGrammy-winning cast recording Jagged Little Pill, and Grammy-nominated recordings Next to<br \/>\nNormal, The Prom, Anything Goes, Matilda the Musical, and Burt Bacharach and Steven Sater\u2019s<br \/>\nSome Lovers as well as other OBC recordings. Eric\u2019s guitar stylings can be heard via<br \/>\nShutterstock licensing tracks on jingles, film scores, and multiple recordings. He has also<br \/>\npublished original compositions for Carl Fischer, Wingert-Jones, Tempo Press, Kendor, and<br \/>\nGrand Mesa.<\/p>\n<p>Eric earned his Master\u2019s degree from The Juilliard School in the first ever class of guitarists, and<br \/>\na Bachelor\u2019s degree from The San Francisco Conservatory.
