He honors both listener and composer with his intelligent, committed interpretations, and he offers a thoughtfully constructed program with elegance and humility.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; New York Concert Review<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Croatian pianist <\/span><b>Javor Bracic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is the first prize winner of international piano competitions such as Citta\u2019 di Minerbio in Italy, Les Rencontres des Jeunes Pianistes in Belgium, and New York Concert Artists\u2019 Carnegie Recital Debut Audition. His performances have been broadcast on Croatian Radio-Television, and on WQXR. His debut CD album Tribute to Haydn has been released by Labor Records and distributed by Naxos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Javor has performed with orchestras such as the Zagreb Soloists, and the Croatian Radio-Television Orchestra. He has collaborated with conductors such as Eduard Zilberkant, Leon Burke, Hikaru Ebihara, and Zlatan Srzi\u0107.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Javor has given solo recitals throughout Europe, the US, Ecuador, Chile, and South Africa. He was invited to perform at festivals such as Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Beijing International Music Festival &amp; Academy, and Music Academy of the West. He was invited as faculty and pianist in residence to Rushmore Music Festival in South Dakota, and Karwendel Music Festival in Germany.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In New York City, he has given solo recitals at Carnegie Hall\u2019s Weill Recital Hall, Steinway Hall, and various consulates. As a member of chamber music ensembles, he has performed at Lincoln Center\u2019s Bruno Walter Auditorium and Merkin Hall, as well as Kennedy Center\u2019s Millennium Stage in Washington, DC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Javor has started a series of conversation-recitals under the title The Art of Listening in order to promote the understanding and appreciation of classical music. He has given over a hundred such recitals and was praised by the audience for his \u201ccontagious enthusiasm\u201d and \u201cunique ability to elucidate imagery both as a performer and teacher.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Together with pianist Angelina Gadeliya, Javor has started Dubrovnik Piano Sessions, a two-week summer study abroad program in Croatia under the auspices of the University of Connecticut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Javor currently teaches piano at the Aaron Copland School of Music and at the University of Connecticut. He also teaches music appreciation classes with a live performance component at 92NY.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Javor holds degrees from the University of Mozarteum Salzburg, Mannes College, and the CUNY Graduate Center.
