header_6_font=&#8221;Roboto Condensed||||||||&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;|-20px||-20px|false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h3 class=\"title-post entry-title\">2026 Psychology Graduation Ceremony<\/h3>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p><em>FAQs<\/em> <em>for\u00a0<\/em>Psychology Department\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>Graduation Ceremony\u00a0<strong><em>Thursday, May 28, 2026 \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>2pm<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Highlights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is our great pleasure to invite our 2026 Graduates to the Psychology Department\u2019s Graduation Ceremony, which will be celebrated on Thursday, May 28th in person on the Quad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduate line-up will be at 1:30pm in-person on the Quad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2 pm<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduates must RSVP via this Psych Department form:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.cloud.microsoft\/r\/ARbGSpQ0cS\">2026 Psychology Commencement RSVP\u00a0 \u2013 Fill out form<\/a><\/p>\n<p>GUESTS must register via EventBrite for entry to campus:<\/p>\n<p>Please use\u00a0EventBrite to register your guests:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/queens-college-commencement-2026-guest-registration-tickets-1981048123265\">https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/queens-college-commencement-2026-guest-registration-tickets-1981048123265<\/a><br \/>*Registration is unnecessary for guests under the age of 18. Guests should have their tickets with them on Commencement Day; a screenshot will be acceptable.<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*If your guests have already done this for the Main College Ceremony, they can use the same registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where is the Psychology Department ceremony?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ceremony will be held outdoors on the QC Quad. Graduating students will be given instructions closer to the event date concerning line-up location.<\/p>\n<p>What time should I arrive?<\/p>\n<p>Graduates need to check-in and join the line-up no later than 1:30pm.\u00a0 We will inform you of the location for the line-up closer to the event date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What time should my guests arrive?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ceremony will begin promptly at 2pm.\u00a0 \u00a0We will have a pre-ceremony waiting area available (details to follow).<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is a \u201cPre-Ceremony waiting area\u201d?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is a several hour gap between the main QC ceremony and our departmental ceremony. \u00a0We are planning to offer a seating\/rest area on campus for students and families who attend the Main Ceremony in the morning and are waiting on campus for our ceremony to begin.\u00a0 If you and your family will be using the waiting area, you must indicate this on your RSVP.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How long is the ceremony?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Approximately 90 minutes. Please ask your guests to remain seated throughout the entire ceremony. Out of respect for your fellow graduates, please plan on remaining for the entire ceremony.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What should I wear?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graduating students should be dressed in cap &amp; gown.\u00a0 Information about how to buy one can be found here:\u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/collegegrad.herffjones.com\/\">https:\/\/collegegrad.herffjones.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Comfortable shoes are suggested as you will be on the Quad\/grass.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do Guests need a ticket?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Graduates are welcome to bring an unlimited number of guests to attend their Queens College ceremonial events. \u00a0All guests must be registered via EventBrite, and come to campus with their tickets to be scanned to enter campus. Your guests may use the same EventBrite registration for both the Main Commencement ceremony and our Psych Dept ceremony.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What happens at the Psychology Department Ceremony?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At our ceremony, graduating students will walk across the stage and have their name called.\u00a0 You will receive a NAME CARD to bring on stage and hand it to the presenter who will then announce your name.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How will the announcer know how to pronounce my name?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you fill out your NAME CARD, you will have the option to write your name out phonetically (write it as it sounds) so that it will be pronounced correctly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can my guests park on campus?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Campus Parking is very limited.\u00a0 It is first-come, first-served.<\/p>\n<p>Please remind guests to leave a lot of extra time in case they need to park off campus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will the event be photographed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, there will be a professional photographer on stage.\u00a0 <u>If you want to be<\/u> <u>contacted<\/u> by the photographer to receive proofs after the ceremony for purchase, provide your contact information to the photographer when you are in the processional line-up.<\/p>\n<p>The photographer will provide a card with a QR Code to scan and submit your information. \u00a0The Photographer is:\u00a0\u00a0 Island Photography<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can my guests take photographs?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, guests are welcome to take photographs. However, this must be done in orderly fashion and they may <u>not<\/u> approach nor go on the stage for safety reasons.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can I also attend the College-wide Commencement ceremony?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, they are two separate events!\u00a0 College-wide Commencement is a separate event.\u00a0 The 2026 Queens College Commencement event is scheduled for Thursday, May 28<sup>th<\/sup> at 9am (several hours prior to the Psychology Dept event).\u00a0 Students must RSVP separately to the Commencement Office &amp; need to register via Eventbrite for your guests. You can find all the information you need about the other event here:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/ce\/\">https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/ce\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Do I get Psychology Department Honors?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Honors in Psychology are granted automatically to any graduating Psychology BA major with an overall GPA of at least 3.50 AND Psych GPA of 3.60 or higher.<\/p>\n<p>A list of our 2026 Honors awardees will soon be posted to our website here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/academics\/psychology\/honors-and-awards-about\/\">https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/academics\/psychology\/honors-and-awards-about\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Honors will be announced during the ceremony when each graduate crosses the stage.\u00a0 Honors awardees will also receive an Honors certificate from the Department.
