Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)

All faculty who propose to conduct research or teaching that requires the use of animals must obtain approval from the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) before beginning work.  Application forms are available in the Office of Regulatory Compliance.  Meeting and deadline dates will be posted as they become available.

Completed protocols must be submitted to the Office of Regulatory Compliance no later than the deadline date (posted above) for consideration by the IACUC.  In general, please submit your protocol at least two weeks before the next scheduled review date.  Protocols not received by the deadline date WILL NOT be reviewed by the IACUC but will be held for review until the next scheduled meeting.  NO EXCEPTIONS will be granted. The original and eight (8) copies of the protocol are required for review.

Animal Welfare – The U.S. Department of Agriculture, which is responsible for the enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act, maintains this site.
