On-Campus Placement

STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR ON-CAMPUS PLACEMENT

 

Please make additional copies of the student checklist and confidentiality statement for your own records.

After completing the above forms, please follow this additional step:

  • Bring all forms to the FWS coordinator in the Financial Aid Office for placement.
    THIS STEP MUST BE DONE BEFORE YOU SEE THE DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR.
    • You will receive a job referral form.
    • You must also bring proof of citizenship status to submit with the I-9 form. Acceptable documents: U.S. passport OR alien registration card OR your driver's license OR Queens College ID AND your Social Security card
    • Citizenship documents must be up to date and not expired.
    • All the forms available above must be completed and submitted during job placement.

Pay Rate

For the academic year 2018-19, the pay rate for on-campus jobs will be increased to $15 an hour for undergraduates, and $16 an hour for graduate students. The off-campus rate varies depending on the job. You are paid only for hours worked in the job in which we place you, and may not work beyond your award.

The Office of Financial Aid Services uses email as our official method of communication.  In order to assure that you receive all communications related to your application, please make sure the e-mail address that you provided on your application is correct.  Please add Queens College to your address book to avoid e-mails from financialaid@qc.cuny.edu being sent to spam folders.​

  • 2019-2020 - Important Dates & Deadlines
    • September 16, 2019 is the last day to declare a major for TAP/APTS eligibility for Fall 2019.
    • The last day to add courses is September 2, 2019. Your registration as of September 2nd will be used to determine your maximum financial aid eligibility for the semester (grants, loans and work-study).​

    • The Excelsior Scholarship is now available, you may click here to apply. The application deadline will be Thursday, August 15, 2019

 

  • Spring 2019 - Important Dates & Deadlines
    • The last day to apply for a direct loan for 2018-2019 is Tuesday, April 30th.
    • The Excelsior Scholarship application for the Spring 2019 semester was Monday, January 14th.  If you first received the award in the fall term of the current academic year, no additional action is needed for the spring term.  ​​
    • The last day to add courses was Thursday, January 31, 2019. Your registration as of January 31st will be used to determine your maximum financial aid eligibility for the semester (grants, loans and work-study).​​
    • February 14, 2019 was the last day to declare a major for TAP/APTS eligibility for Spring 2019.
    • The last day to apply for APTS (Aid for Part-time Studies) was Monday, February 18, 2019.  You must have submitted your TAP application for 2018-2019 and filled out the supplement form on your Student Service Center in CUNYfirst.
