{"id":17212,"date":"2026-01-12T10:16:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T15:16:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/admissions\/?page_id=17212"},"modified":"2026-01-20T10:11:22","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T15:11:22","slug":"secondbachelorsdegree","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.qc.cuny.edu\/admissions\/secondbachelorsdegree\/","title":{"rendered":"Second Bachelors Degree"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||0px|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; admin_label=&#8221;Column&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Requirements for the Second Baccalaureate Degree<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Queens College may award a baccalaureate degree to students who have already earned one.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"1\">\n<li>The student must have completed a baccalaureate degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or from a foreign institution of equivalent level, with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0, and must satisfy the college\u2019s admission requirements.<\/li>\n<li>The second baccalaureate degree will be in a field of study different from the major of the student\u2019s first degree.<\/li>\n<li>The student must be accepted by the academic department or program of the second major, subject to the recommendation of the dean of the division or school in which the new major is offered.<\/li>\n<li>The student will complete at least 30 credits of coursework at Queens beyond those credits applied to the first degree.<\/li>\n<li>The student must complete all requirements in the second major area of concentration as defined by the appropriate QC department or program.<\/li>\n<li>The student must achieve a grade-point average of at least 2.0 at the end of the first semester (or first 10 credits) to remain in the program; thereafter, the student must maintain a 2.0 average.
