CETLL is offering a self-paced course focused on best practices for teaching online. We have developed this course as a refresher on online teaching pedagogies through asynchronous discussions and hands-on activities. You will review pedagogical practices and technology resources, join asynchronous discussions, and work with digital tools in the Blackboard environment.
This fully asynchronous course has five sessions:
Session 1 – Creating a welcoming online learning environment
Session 2 – Structuring an online course and an effective syllabus
Session 3 – Developing online content
Session 4 – Engaging students in an online environment
Session 5 – Online assessment
Each session has an Introduction, a Read and Watch folder, an Assessment, and a Discussion. We also add a checklist at the end of each session to help you track your progress.
You can view the syllabus here.
Participants can expect to spend about 10-15 hours working on the activities, but actual time may vary based on prior experience.
Faculty who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Refresher Completion that can be downloaded from Blackboard.
Please note that compensation is not being offered for this course.
