We will resume our Sit N Write workshops officially starting January 31, 2025, at 9:30 AM<\/strong>.\u00a0 To help launch us, we will have a virtual<\/a><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0morning workshop “Teaching, Thriving, & Flourishing in Challenging Times: Saving Our Selves & Our Classrooms” <\/strong>with Dr. Roxanne Donovan of Kennesaw State University and founder of Well Academic<\/a><\/u>.\u00a0 Dr. Donovan is also co-author of Teaching Diversity Relationally: Engaging Emotions and Embracing Possibilities<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 <\/strong>The workshop will focus on balancing the demands of the classroom while navigating a research and scholarship agenda. While this workshop builds on our September 6, 2024, session with Dr. Donovan, we encourage anyone interested in exploring best practices for navigating the classroom over the next four years to join us. Dr. Donovan will explore hands-on techniques to manage competing demands, like those of teaching and scholarship,\u00a0as well as work and family.\u00a0 Please plan to attend with writing utensils for long-hand exercises.\u00a0 Dr. Donovan hopes to help us all to explore methods and best practices for Sustaining Our Selves (SOS)\u00a0 and our classrooms for the coming term and beyond.\u00a0 You may register for this workshop (and subsequent Sit N Write sessions) here: QC Spring 25 Sit\u2019n\u2019Write<\/a><\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Our time with Dr. Donovan will end at 12:30 PM.\u00a0 We will break for lunch and then move to our annual “Every Semester Needs a Plan” working session.\u00a0 For those interested, we will view a step-by-step guide to planning out a balanced semester.\u00a0 For those interested in a head start on this, you may view: https:\/\/vimeo.com\/133385186<\/a><\/u>.\u00a0 We will be using an updated version of this video.\u00a0 It is shared for practice purposes.\u00a0 You may also wish to view the template for semester planning<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n To help streamline things, we are using one registration link for both Publish and Flourish and Sit N Write.\u00a0 Whether you attend via Zoom or in person, you are asked to register for the Zoom link.\u00a0 Once registered, you will receive our Sit N Write Intake form that will ask you to state your preference for in-person or virtual participation.\u00a0 We strongly encourage in-person participation where possible.\u00a0 Our January 31, 2025, morning workshop (by request of the facilitator) will be virtual.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Please register <\/strong>here: QC Spring 25 Sit\u2019n\u2019Write<\/a><\/u><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>no later than Noon on January 24, 2025<\/strong>, <\/strong>so that Dr. Donovan may have a head count for the Friday, January 31, 2025, workshop.
