Why does accessibility matter?<\/h2>\n

Digital content, (e.g., an LMS course site or website) with accessibility issues\u00a0<\/span><\/span>creates<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>barriers to students with disabilities. For example, images need alt text (aka, alternative\u00a0<\/span><\/span>text<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>or image description). This will ensure that\u00a0<\/span><\/span>a blind student or a student accessing the course site with\u00a0<\/span><\/span>slow<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>internet connection<\/span>, has access to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>information<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Other<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>common accessibility issues include pages with low contrast font color<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>or<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>inappropriate heading structure.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
