Accessibility in Brightspace<\/h1>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” text_font_size=”16px” custom_margin=”30px||0px||false|false” custom_padding=”0px||0px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n

CUNY strongly recommends that instructors upload their course materials in the <\/span>University-supported LMS (Brightspace) for each class, regardless of the\u00a0course\u00a0modality. This will help instructors\u00a0identify\u00a0accessibility issues using Ally, a tool within Brightspace. Ally generates alternative formats, including audio files and digital Braille files\u00a0that enable students to choose how to engage with the course\u2019s digital content.<\/span><\/p>\n

Consider\u00a0<\/span>creating<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>your syllabus directly in Brightspace using a document template<\/a>. <\/span><\/span>They are pre-formatted for accessibility<\/span>. In addition, you can update the syllabus directly in Brightspace, so\u00a0<\/span>there\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0no need to upload a new file<\/span>\u00a0when you make changes<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
