The Special Collections and Archives (SCA) Fellowships Program offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and stipends to a limited number of graduate students enrolled in Library and Information Science programs each year. Participants may optionally use the fellowship to fulfill the internship requirement and receive course credits. Students enrolled in the Archives Certificate program are preferred.<\/p>\n

Three opportunities are available for the academic year 2026-2027. Fellows will receive a total of $5000 (stipend of $2500 each semester) and funding towards a professional development activity.<\/p>\n
Fellows receive mentorship, training, and supervision within SCA and are fully integrated into the team, supervised by Head of Special Collections and Archives Annie Tummino and Archivist Caitlin Colban-Waldron. Fellows typically complete 120 hours of work over a semester and may optionally use the Fellowship to fulfill the three-credit GSLIS internship, INFO 7995.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>In celebration of the SEEK program\u2019s historic 60th anniversary, the Civil Rights and Social Justice Fellow will select, digitize, and catalog materials from the SEEK Collection for posting on the JSTOR platform, including reports, publications, and photographs. Additionally, the Fellow will share collection highlights and curate reels about the history of the SEEK program for sharing on Instagram.<\/p>\n
<\/strong>The Fellow will re-house, arrange, and describe the exhibition files (8 linear feet) of the Queens College Art Center, a gallery on the 6th floor of Rosenthal Library that hosted many significant exhibitions over the years. The fellow will use ArchivesSpace software to publish a finding aid for the collection online. The Fellow may pursue additional processing or digitization projects depending on the time available.<\/p>\n
<\/strong>The Fellow will re-house, arrange, and describe the Congressman Benjamin Rosenthal Papers (55 linear feet), and will use ArchivesSpace software to publish a finding aid for the collection online. This is a large and historic collection consisting of Rosenthal\u2019s materials from his time representing northern Queens in Congress (1962-1983), including congressional files, district office files, case files, and correspondence. Rosenthal, the namesake of the Queens College Library, was a major consumer advocate and involved in setting foreign policy while in office.<\/p>\nInternships<\/h2>\n
