Fellows and Interns<\/h2>\n
The Special Collections and Archives (SCA) Fellowships Program offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and stipends to a limited number of graduate students enrolled in Library and Information Science programs each year. Participants may optionally use the fellowship to fulfill the internship requirement and receive course credits. A full list of prior participants and their projects is posted below.<\/p>\n

Ailbhe McDonnell<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\nAilbhe McDonnell, Shirley Klein Special Collections and Archives fellowship, Spring 2026
<\/strong>Ailbhe McDonnell is a student of the MLS\/MA program at Queens College, where they have focused on Irish, queer, family and public histories, with attention to how they interact and are activated in the archives. They are currently processing the Paul Klapper Library Art Center records, which provide a fascinating vision of the history of art at Queens. When not at QC, Ailbhe is also a fellow with the Citi Center for Culture + Queens Public Library program, where they are currently working with Queens Memory. Off hours, Ailbhe loves to work with textiles (mostly knitting), read fantasy and sci-fi, and look at the ocean.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n

Daniel Giovanniello<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\nDaniel Giovanniello, Freda S. and J. Chester Johnson Civil Rights and Social Justice Archives Fellow, Spring 2026
<\/strong>Daniel Giovanniello is a graduate student pursuing a dual degree in library science and history with an Advanced Certificate in Archives at the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies at Queens College. He is particularly interested in 20th century labor history. He lives in Ridgewood, works at the Great Neck Public Library, plays bass guitar in several Brooklyn-based bands, and enjoys making hot sauces.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n

<\/strong>Bianca Oliva processed the records of the Queens College Asian\/American Center, publishing a finding aid for the collection using ArchivesSpace. Oliva also selected, scanned, and cataloged a sample of important materials from the collection for display on the JSTOR platform.<\/p>\nOlivia Zisman, Shirley Klein Rare Book and Manuscript Fellow
<\/strong>Olivia Zisman processed oversized materials, including the World War II poster collection, and the Political Posters collection. She rehoused these items in acid free map folders and created custom backings and mylar enclosures for the items as necessary. <\/strong>Sarah Barlow-Ochshorn processed the Coach Lucille Kyvallos Athletics Records; curated a selection of the materials for display in the Pine Tree Foundation Special Collections exhibit area; and co-executed a Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon on Women and Sports.<\/p>\nPamela Padilla, Shirley Klein Rare Book and Manuscript Fellow
<\/strong>Pamela Padilla processed music manuscript collections from the Aaron Copland School of Music and Music Library; implemented the \u201cGuidelines for Archival Description of Notated Music\u201d; and solicited quotes from conservators for potential repair of select items from the rare book collection.<\/p>\nDanica Stomp\u00f3r, Freda S. and J.
