Marvin Frederick Hamlisch (1944 \u20132012)<\/strong><\/p><\/div><\/p>\n

\u00a0Marvin Frederick Hamlisch (1944 \u20132012) was a composer, conductor, and one of only two people to have ever won a Pulitzer, Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (\u201cPEGOT\u201d). He scored his first hit in 1965 at the age of 21 and won a pair of Oscars\u2014his first\u2014in 1973. In addition to his work for film, Hamlisch also became known during the 1970s for his scores for the stage. By the 1990s he assumed duties as principal pops conductor at a series of U.S. symphony orchestras, which continued until his death. Hamlisch has been inducted into both the Long Island Music Hall of Fame and the American Theater Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n
