As an internationally recognized pianist, educator, and musicologist, Dr. Samantha Ege has focused on the musical contributions of underrepresented musicians, specifically women and people of color as well as the figures that made their ascendence possible.<\/p>\n

Composer Florence Price has been a pivotal figure for Dr. Ege, both as a performer and researcher. Her most recent and second album,\u00a0Fantasie N\u00e8gre: The Piano Music of Florence Price,<\/em>\u00a0was released earlier this year. Her debut album also features the music of Price, as well as other notable female composers.\u00a0Four Women: Music for Solo Piano by Price, Kapr\u00e1lov\u00e1, Bilsland, and Bonds<\/em>\u00a0was released in 2018. In partnership with the Aaron Copland School of Music, Dr. Samantha Ege will be presenting Black Classical Herstories and the Piano Music of Florence Price. This lecture is free and will be live streamed to\u00a0Youtube<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday, February 24th<\/sup>\u00a0at 2PM. It will remain available after airing.<\/p>\n
