He first became known through his work with lyricist Lorenz Hart, with whom Rodgers wrote several musicals in the 1920s and 1930s, including A Connecticut Yankee (1927), Babes in Arms (1939), and On Your Toes (1939). However, it was via his work with Oscar Hammerstein II in the 1940s and 1950s, on such musicals as Oklahoma! (1955), South Pacific (1958) and The Sound of Music (1965), that Rodgers gained widespread acclaim. His collaborations with Hammerstein are notable for creating shows that, though based on plays and novels, featured original dialogue as well as storytelling that moved seamlessly from speech to song.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row custom_padding_last_edited=”off|desktop” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#FFFFFF” width=”82%” max_width=”82%” custom_padding=”|20px||20px|true|true” custom_padding_tablet=”|50px||50px|true|true” custom_padding_phone=”|10px||10px|true|true” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”|20px||20px|false|true” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text admin_label=”ITEMS ON DISPLAY IN THE MUSIC LIBRARY” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#FFFFFF” custom_padding=”||||true|true” border_color_all=”#A9A9A9″ locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

ITEMS ON DISPLAY IN THE MUSIC LIBRARY:

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ custom_padding_last_edited=”off|desktop” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#FFFFFF” width=”82%” max_width=”82%” custom_margin=”||||false|false” custom_padding=”|20px||20px|false|true” custom_padding_tablet=”|50px||50px|false|true” custom_padding_phone=”|10px||10px|false|true” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”|20px||20px|false|true” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#FFFFFF” custom_padding=”||||true|true” border_color_all=”#A9A9A9″ locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Richard Rodgers
Block, Geoffrey Holden, 1948- c2003
ML 410 .R6315 B56 2003

Richard Rodgers greatest hits
Rodgers, Richard, 1902-1979, composer.; Boston Pops Orchestra, performer.; Morton Gould Orchestra, performer.; RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra, performer.; Melachrino Strings, performer.; Melachrino Orchestra, performer.; BMG Entertainment (Firm), publisher.; Gould, Morton, 1913-1996, musical director.; Bennett, Robert Russell, 1894-1981, musical director.; Fiedler, Arthur, 1894-1979, musical director.; Rodgers, Richard, 1902-1979.
2001
Circ.
