The Makerspace is part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/nsf.gov\/awardsearch\/showAward?AWD_ID=1928565&amp;HistoricalAwards=false\">5 year, multimillion dollar grant<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/\">National Science Foundation<\/a> to incorporate its project-based learning into QC&#8217;s STEM classes, in order to improve undergraduate interest and retention in STEM programs. Congratulations to Head of Makerspace Nick Normal and his co-recipients!<\/p>\n<p>The Makerspace also has a new team member, Student Aide Piphat &#8220;Filmy&#8221; Cheng. Filmy is in his final year studying graduate- level Photonics (Applied Physics), and is also a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/filmycheng\/?hl=en\">remarkable photographer.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All of us at the library welcome Filmy, and look forward to a great semester of new projects and events in the Makerspace.
