Professors&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/library.qc.cuny.edu\/profile\/qiong-xu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Q. The month of May was chosen to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843, and to mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869. The majority of the workers who laid the tracks were Chinese immigrants (<a href=\"https:\/\/asianpacificheritage.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/asianpacificheritage.gov\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jewish American Heritage Month\u2019s history is more recent, as it was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/american-politics\/trump-proclaims-may-jewish-american-heritage-month-553195\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">declared by President George W.
