The QC Library celebrates AAPI Heritage Month with featured resources in honor of Asian American history, culture, and contributions to social diversity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/qc-cuny.libguides.com\/asian-studies-guide\/heritage2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AAPI Heritage Month<\/a> guide features open and licensed resources, including current facts, print books, and electronic resources (eBooks, streaming media, digital archives, etc.). Below are a few of the featured resources. More information of interest may be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/qc-cuny.libguides.com\/asian-studies-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Asian Studies<\/a> guide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>AAPI Population by State<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPer a 1997 U.S. Office of Management and Budget directive, the Asian or Pacific Islander racial category was separated into two categories: one being Asian and the other Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander.\u201d (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/newsroom\/facts-for-features\/2022\/asian-american-pacific-islander.html\" target=\"_blank\">U.S. Census Bureau, 2022<\/a>). This series approaches the subject by culminating in a rich and diverse panel of academics in language, history, and politics.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/festival.si.edu\/blog\/2010\/hiu-newcomb-chinese-american-organic-farmer\" target=\"_blank\">Chinese American History: Origins of an Organic Farmer<\/a>: \u201cHiu Newcomb, a third-generation Chinese American, is the co-owner and operator of Potomac Vegetable Farms in Vienna, Virginia.
