Interim President Elizabeth (Betsy) Field Hendrey<\/h4>\n

Elizabeth (Betsy) Field Hendrey was appointed interim president of Queens College, CUNY, effective August 1, 2026. A dedicated leader in higher education and professor emerita of economics, Hendrey previously served Queens College in various roles during her 33-year tenure, most notably as provost and vice president for academic affairs from 2013 to 2022. She also spent time as QC\u2019s dean of social sciences, chair of the economics department, and chief operating officer and VP for strategic enrollment management. Most recently, Hendrey was the interim provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Medgar Evers College. Hendrey holds an AB in economics, graduating cum laude from Princeton University, and earned her MA and PhD in economics from Duke University.<\/p>\n
