A fee of $75 will be charged for removal of the immobilization boot in addition to the parking violation penalty for the ticket(s). <br \/>\u00a0Students with disabilities MUST have a license plate or a hangtag issued by the Motor Vehicle Bureau. The tag MUST be displayed AT ALL TIMES. (This is in\u00a0 \u00a0addition to the Queens College decal.) Disability parking MUST be approved by the office of Special Services for Students with Disabilities (SPSV) Kiely Hall,\u00a0 \u00a0Room 108). Students, faculty, and staff MUST park ONLY in their assigned fields. Registration and Fees All fees and fines quoted in these regulations,\u00a0 \u00a0including New York City parking tax where applicable, have been approved by the college and the City University of New York Board of Trustees, and are\u00a0 \u00a0subject to change without notice. <br \/>\u00a0Fees and fines are designed to provide a self-supporting parking program, including financing construction, maintenance, lighting, security, and\u00a0 \u00a0administration of the parking operation.<br \/>\u00a0You must be a registered student and have cleared all holds prior to applying for parking. Vehicles that are parked illegally, or that interfere with\u00a0 \u00a0the movement of traffic, or with excessive violations are subject to immobilization and a service fee of $75 for removal of the \u201cboot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Full-time faculty or staff and college assistants employed at Queens College during the parking decal period (October to October) are required to pay the\u00a0 \u00a0full price for parking regardless of when the decal is purchased. New employees starting April 1 or later pay $148 (full-time) or $90 (college assistants).\u00a0 \u00a0Faculty or staff who are assigned to Field 2\/7 and do not find parking there may park in Fields 5, 6, 14, or 15.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Pass for card-operated control gates: $25 refundable deposit\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0In no case shall these fees exceed $440 per vehicle per academic year.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Car registration must be in the family name.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Queens College Public Safety Department Parking and Traffic Regulations:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Parking on the Queens College campus is by decal only. To be parked on college property, all vehicles must be registered with the Public Safety Office.\u00a0 \u00a0Unregistered vehicles or vehicles parked in violation of the Parking and Traffic Regulations in this notice are subject to both ticketing and immobilization\u00a0 \u00a0(\u201cbooting\u201d). A $75 fee will be charged for removal of the immobilization boot in addition to the parking violation penalty for the ticket(s).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0*Please note: Students\/faculty\/staff must park in their assigned fields.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0Regulations:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The following regulations govern parking privileges and should be read by everyone who parks on campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Illegally parked vehicles that interfere with the movement of traffic, or those with excessive violations, are subject to immobilization. Owners are charged a\u00a0 \u00a0$75 service fee for the removal of \u201cboot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Parking on campus is at the owner\u2019s risk. The registered driver is responsible for the use of the vehicle on campus. The college is NOT responsible for loss\u00a0 \u00a0or damage to any registered or other vehicles, their contents, or equipment. The fee provides only the privilege of parking on campus on a space-available\u00a0 \u00a0basis.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a01. Students are allowed to purchase only ONE parking decal, for ONE vehicle. Vehicle registration MUST be in the family name, or same address.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a02. Decals are NOT TRANSFERABLE, either to other persons or to other vehicles. Parking privileges will be REVOKED, WITHOUT REFUND, for failure to observe\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0this regulation.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a03. Unauthorized use of Parking Decal: All parking permits must be obtained from the Public Safety Department located in Jefferson Hall, room 201. If you\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0purchased a parking decal from any source other than the Public Safety office in Jefferson Hall, room 201, that decal is considered NULL and VOID.\u00a0 \u00a0 <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 Individuals using such decals will face disciplinary charges.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a04. Parking on campus is at the driver\u2019s own risk. The registered driver is responsible for the use of the vehicle on campus. The college is NOT responsible for\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 loss or damage to any registered or other vehicle, its contents, or equipment. The fee provides only for the privilege of parking oncampus on a space-\u00a0 <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 available basis.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">5. a) Decals must be for the current year and properly affixed to the LOWER RIGHT SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD (opposite your registration and inspection\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0 stickers). If your decal is removed from your windshield, it will be void (if decal no longer sticks, return it to Jefferson 201 and pay a $25 replacement fee <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 for new decal). Expired decals MUST be removed. DECALS THAT ARE NOT PROPERLY AFFIXED WILL BE CONFISCATED. Use of tape or any method other\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0than that specified on the decal is not acceptable and shall be considered a violation of these regulations. Cars NOT exhibiting a proper decal or special\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 pass from the Public Safety Office are subject to ticketing and \u201cbooting,\u201d as noted above.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0 b) Tampering with the Queens College issued decal, you will be subject to disciplinary charges and the decal being confiscated.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0 c) Individuals who park on campus with a counterfeit or forged decal will be charged the full price of the decal being used and will also face disciplinary\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 action.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"> <br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a06. a) Replacement decals: Lost, stolen, or destroyed decals will NOT be replaced. A replacement decal for a new vehicle may be purchased for $25 after the\u00a0 \u00a0 <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0old decal is returned to the Public Safety Office (Jefferson Hall, Room 201). When replacing leased cars or for new cars, you MUST bring back the decal or\u00a0 <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0pieces of it to be eligible for the $25 replacement fee. Failure to return the decal will result in your having to purchase a new decal at full price, if available. <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0No picture will be accepted as proof of decal.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0b) Lost or stolen control-gate passes will be replaced only upon payment of an additional $25 fee after verification of loss by the Public Safety Office <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(Jefferson Hall Room 201).<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0 c)Refunds are not provided for any unexpired period for which a decal has been issued, except for those who have paid in advance for a second\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 semester.\u00a0 To request a refund, claims must be submitted no later than January 31 of the following year. Please note that you must return the decal or any <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0pieces of it to be eligible for the refund. Decals purchased for the Fall or Spring semesters are eligible for a full refund only within the first two weeks of <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0classes.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0 d) Decals purchased for the Summer Session(s) are eligible for refunds only within the first week of classes.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\"> <br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 7. The map on the back of this brochure indicates the location that corresponds to the field number(s) on the front of your parking decal. Tickets will be <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0issued for failure to park in the assigned field or within the lines of demarcation.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 8. Parking is prohibited on roadways, in loading-zones, and in any areas not specifically designated for parking. These areas must be kept clear for the <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0normal movement of traffic, fire apparatus, and other emergency vehicles, college vehicles, and delivery trucks. Vehicles parked on roads or in fire lanes, <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0or obstructing fire hydrants or crosswalks, or creating a hazardous condition are subject to ticketing and &#8220;booting.&#8221; Handicapped spaces are reserved for <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0those issued appropriate decals\/passes.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0 b). Illegally parked vehicles are subjected to be ticked for each 8 hour period of violation.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 9. Parking on or driving around the Quadrangle is prohibited. These areas in front of Kiely Hall and Fitzgerald Gymnasium and at the side of Jefferson Hall <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0are reserved for authorized vehicles.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 10. Traffic signs and regulations are in effect at all times throughout the year.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 11. Parking regulations will be strictly enforced at all times. Cars not displaying a proper decal or special pass or parked so as to create a hazardous\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0condition will be &#8220;booted.&#8221; $75 services fee plus fine(s) for violation(s) must be paid before the vehicle will be released. for information, please contact the <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Main Gate Public Safety Office (718-997-5912).<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 12. a) Vehicles are to be operated on campus with extreme caution and at NO MORE THAN 5 miles per hour. Pedestrians have the right of way at all times.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0 b) Overtaking is strictly prohibited on campus.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 13. A driver damaging an unoccupied vehicle is requires reporting the incident to the Main Gate Public Safety Office, no matter how minor the damage<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 14. Student parking ends at 11 pm, unless otherwise authorized. Overnight parking (after 11pm) on campus is strictly prohibited unless you have a Summit <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0decal. In an emergency, specific arrangements must be made with the Public Safety Office (718) 997-4443 (Jefferson Hall, Room 201) or, after office hours, <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0with the Main Gate Public Safety Office by calling (718) 997-5912.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 15.. In the event of a severe snowstorm, cars that cannot be driven home should be moved. if possible, to the edges of the fields to facilitate snow removal.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Drivers should avoid parking their cars on campus after a snowstorm until the parking fields have been cleared. The Superintendent of Buildings &amp;\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0Grounds is authorized to restrict parking on campus during a snow emergency.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 16. Individuals authorized to park on campus must obtain a visitor&#8217;s pass from the Main Gate Public Safety Office if they wish to park a vehicle that is not <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0registered with the college. Approval for these requests is at the discretion of the Main Gate supervisor on duty that day. For requests that extend<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0beyond one day, please visit the Public Safety Office located in Jefferson Hall, room 201.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 17. a) Vehicles with evening session decals may not be parked on campus before 2 pm. After 2 pm, students who have evening decals may park in Fields 2, <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a05, 6,9,14, or 15.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0Day students must stay in their assigned fields.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0Note: During Summer Session, students with evening decals must park only in Fields 5 or 14 before 2 pm.<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0After 3 pm, they may park in Fields 2, 5, 6, 9, or14.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0b). On Fridays after 8 am, students with evening decals are allowed to park ONLY in Fields 5 or 14.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0c). No day student parking decals are sold during the Spring semester. Students who purchase annual<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0evening decals will not be permitted to switch their evening decals for day decals in the Spring semester.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0d). STUDENTS&#8217; who purchased a yearly underground Summit Decal and is not residing in the Summit for the Summer, and is taking Summer classes\u00a0 \u00a0 <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0CANNOT PARK in the assigned spot that they were designated to for the prior semesters, they MUST PARK in fields 5\/14 for the Summer.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 18. These regulations apply to the main campus, and other college property off the main campus (Kissena Hall, Queens Hall) and<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0are in effect at all times throughout the year.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 19. a) Field 15 is usually closed on Fridays and during June, July, and August. If you have a decal for this field, when it is closed you are authorized to park in <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 Field 5 or 14 only. You cannot use the campus entrances (Kissena or Melbourne gates) to access Field 15.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 \u00a0b) Gate #2 (Melbourne Avenue) is closed on Fridays during Fall and Spring semesters, every day during Winter and Summer Sessions, and whenever <br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 classes are not in session. The Melbourne Avenue pedestrian gate is open every day until 11 pm.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0 Enforcement<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0Public Safety Officers are assigned to reserve the parking areas for authorized vehicles.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0Drivers are expected to cooperate with the Public Safety Officers. A violation tag (ticket) will be attached to a vehicle if it is not parked in accordance with\u00a0 \u00a0these regulations.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Penalties for violation of these regulations, subject to appeal as described below, are as follows<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0\u25a0 $50 \u2013 Parking with no decal\/pass\u00a0<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0\u25a0$50 \u2013 Parking in handicapped spaces without a QC handicapped-parking decal<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0\u25a0$50 \u2013 Blocking fire hydrant\/emergency exit\/loading zone\/roadways<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0\u25a0$25 \u2013 All other violations<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0\u25a0$25 \u2013 Bounced check fee<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">\u00a0Fines can be paid at the Public Safety Office (Jefferson Hall, Room 201), or mailed in (see below) by check or money order only (cash and credit cards not\u00a0 \u00a0accepted). Failure to pay a fine within 10 days will result in an additional penalty of $10. Failure to pay within 20 days adds another $10 penalty. In addition\u00a0 \u00a0to monetary penalties, students failing to pay after 20 days may be subject to cancellation of parking privileges, denial of future right to purchase a decal,\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cbooting,\u201d blocking of registration and release of diplomas and transcripts, and disciplinary action. Please review the\u00a0Student Parking Fee Schedule\u00a0for annual and semester-based costs.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Summer Parking&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.23.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;on&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>There is no cost for parking for Summer Session students; however, you must still submit an application and obtain a parking decal. Please complete the summer parking application and present your supporting documents to the Office of Public Safety.
