As someone who has worked with accounting students and employers for a long time, I have noticed that the following are very critical to secure good career opportunities in the field: First and foremost, academic excellence will help you to become very competitive in highly selective job environment. Having leadership and team work experience acquired on campus through participation in club and association activities will also give you a very competitive advantage. Actual experience acquired either through internships or other forms of experiential learning appeal to almost all employers. That kind of experience is always a very effective, and will help you to present yourself to prospective employers with confidence, and enable you realize your dream of securing a challenging and satisfying career after graduation. Last but not lease, learn to improve your communication skills. Knowing how to communicate one-on-one in a business environment, and learning and knowing how to present ideas to colleagues and co-workers in a group setting is critical to secure a good job and launch a successful career.
