Knights Table
Food insecurity can be experienced anywhere. Food insecurity is defined as: “The limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate foods, including involuntarily cutting back on meals and food portions or not knowing the source of the next meal.” (Long Island Cares, 2020)
The Knights Table Pantry was established in the fall of 2018 as part of Queens College’s commitment to reduce food insecurity among its student population. The Knights Table Food Pantry, overseen by the Office of Student Development and Leadership (OSDL) at Queens College is dedicated to the success of all our students in our CUNY system. Our mission is to assist and empower all Queens College/CUNY students by providing members of our community here at Queens College and in other CUNY schools with essential and basic needs at no cost.

Harvest Fest
Harvest Fest is one of the Pantry’s traditional programs that happens the first Wednesday of every month during the school year. This program provides students with fresh produce purchased from our community partner GrowNYC. Students check-in, receive a bag, and are able to go down the produce line choosing what they want. This event happens during free hours 12:30pm – 1:30pm and is a first come first served basis until all the produce is gone.

Special Thank You!
The Knights Table Food Pantry would like to give a special thank you to all those who have contributed to the pantry through items, monetary donations and volunteer service to stop the stigma against food insecurity.
The Knights Table Pantry recognizes that access to nutritious food is a fundamental human right. Food accessibility and affordability are essential for college students in order to thrive, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and concentrate in class. We believe that no Queens College or CUNY student should go hungry or forego a nutritious diet. We would also like to thank our community partners for their donations outside the scope of food as statistics show if someone is experiencing food insecurity they may experience insecurity in other areas.
