The Alumni Network Plays a Key Role in Student Success
Queens College students are becoming more aware that an alumni network is critical to their success.
By supplementing the work of academic and professional advisors, alumni can help students overcome barriers, connect classroom learning to the real world, offer career and professional advice, or listen to their aspirations with a friendly ear.
The Office of Alumni Relations offers an important resource for our partners in the Center for Career Engagement and Internships and academic areas on campus. Staff can identify and reach out to accomplished, willing and available alumni that share a built-in bond with students.
Whether it’s providing career guidance, mentorship, job opportunities, or networking connections, your support makes a difference in their academic and professional development.
For college students, social capital can be as important to academic success and career opportunities as skills and knowledge. First-generation students and those from families without the social ties made and cultivated through family and friends look to the Alumni Network to fill that gap.
Alumni can learn about getting involved here.
We wish everyone good health and success in the New Year!
