Advance Payment Of Federal Pell Grant And SEOG
Since Federal Pell Grant and SEOG awards for the fall semester are not paid until mid-September and spring awards are not paid until mid-February, the Office of Financial Aid Services schedules an advance Pell payment for eligible students at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. These advances are intended to give you a portion of your award at the start of the semester to help purchase books and supplies.
For the Fall 2017 term, Pell Grant- or SEOG-eligible students will be sent an advance via their usual method of financial aid delivery (direct deposit, or physically mailed check). This delivery is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 15. This advance is excess funding after coverage of tuition and fees. If you later become ineligible for one or more financial aid awards, you may incur a tuition liability.
As in prior semesters, the student bears responsibility for assuring that all tuition, fee, and residence hall liabilities are satisfied.
