When you do your tax return, don't forget about tax credits! These two are often overlooked.

Hope Scholarships and Lifelong Learning Credit: Call the QC Bursar's Office Hotline at 718-997-4534. CUNY sends required information to students on a 1098T form in January. See IRS instructions for information on your eligibility for a tax credit. Note: More students will be eligible under a new program for tax year 2009.
The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) isn't related to the college or college expenses. Many of our students and their families are eligible; don't forget it if you qualify.
Tax Preparation Assistance: Free tax preparation assistance is often offered through both the Student Association Office (SU 319) and the Accounting Honor Society. Ask in the Accounting Department in PH 215 for details.
