Ready to apply to QC?

Lots of steps are involved in application, admission, enrollment and registration. This checklist will take you through all of them.

Plan Ahead

The college application process can take 6 weeks or more. Be sure you plan ahead so you're not left behind.

Create a Portal Log-in/CUNY account

Applications are submitted online through the City University of New York (CUNY), which processes them. Therefore, you need to have a CUNY account. To create one, go to the CUNY Portal Log-in. (Best if used in Firefox or Chrome web browsers.)

Prepare and File Your Application

Before starting your application, please fill out the appropriate worksheet. The worksheet asks for all the information you need for the online form.

General Freshman Application Worksheet
For students who are high school seniors, have already graduated from high school, or who have passed the GED test.

Transfer Student Application Worksheet

Now you're ready to log in to the CUNY Portal, click Apply To CUNY/Apply Online, and complete your application. Remember to indicate that Queens College is your first choice.

Additional Documents

After you apply online, you'll need to mail your transcripts, test scores, and any other required information to CUNY. Visit CUNY's After You Apply page for details. Upon sending all necessary documents to CUNY, allow 4 to 6 weeks to be notified of your admission decision.

During this period, domestic applicants may check the application status page. If you were educated abroad, email your status inquiry to Include your Application Control Number (10-digit number beginning with a "W" that can be found in your Application Summary Package) in the body of the email.

Admissions Notification

If accepted, you will acceptance notification by email, followed by a formal acceptance letter from the Queens College President.

If you are not accepted, you will be notified by email.
