Testing Policy for Students with Disabilities
Assessment Tests
Accommodations based on disability will be granted to comply with
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with
Disabilities Act. Students who wish to seek such an accommodation must
be registered with the college's Office of Special Services for
Students with Disabilities.
In rare instances, when no accommodation is practicable, the student
may request a waiver from the college's Scholastic Standards/Course
& Standing Committee. A student typically must demonstrate: a) a
disability, documented by a certified professional, which affects that
student's ability in the skill domain, b) a history of
disability-related difficulty with the skill, c) and an evaluation of
the request by the office serving students with disabilities, typically
indicating that despite good faith efforts to demonstrate proficiency,
with all appropriate reasonable accommodations and support services in
place, the student has been unable to pass the exam. The waiver applies
only at the college the student currently attends.
