The Queens College Special Collections and Archives, part of the Benjamin Rosenthal College Library, comprises 4,500 cubic feet of primarily college records from 1937 to the present. Collecting began formally in the late 1960's, supplementing earlier efforts to preserve largely unorganized records. The department is especially interested in the materials that preserve the history of the Borough of Queens and the New York City region. Our collections are particularly strong in capturing the College’s history of excellence in the areas of Performing Arts, Literature, Politics, and Civil Rights.
Donate to the Department
The Archives are a resource for students and faculty as well as independent researchers across the nation. The department’s staff is engaged in innovative strategies to provide stewardship for the collections and increase their accessibility to the public. These efforts flourish with the support of donors like you. Gifts pay for the supplies and services critical to the mission of our department.
Please make checks payable to the Queens College Foundation. Please write in the memo field "For the Department of Special Collections and Archives, Queens College Libraries." Call our office at 718-997-3650 with any questions about how to donate. Thank you for the support!
