New GRE Requirements for Teacher Education Programs

The New York State Education Transformation Act of 2015 requires graduate-level Teacher Education and Educational Leadership programs to establish rigorous admissions selection criteria geared to predicting applicants’ academic success in those programs. In accordance with these new regulations, Queens College has amended its admission requirements such that individuals who apply to any program leading to New York State certification in classroom teaching and/or in educational leadership will need to submit their Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores to Queens College as part of their application.
