Summer Session Program

Meet fascinating students from around the world, earn credits toward your degree, and still have time for a vacation. How? By attending Queens College’s Summer Session, where you’ll find superb faculty, affordable tuition, a beautiful campus, and classes from all academic disciplines and on everything from ancient civilizations to urban studies.

We offer nearly 700 undergraduate and graduate courses during the summer. We have two short sessions (four weeks) and a long session (approximately six weeks). 

Summer 1 Short: 

Monday, June 6 to Wednesday, June 27, 2018  (4 weeks long)

Summer 2 Short: 

Wednesday, July 2 to Thursday, July 26, 2018  (4 weeks long)

Summer 2 Long: 

Wednesday, July 2 to Monday, August 13, 2018  (6 weeks long)

Visiting students should follow these steps to enroll in a course.

QC and CUNY students can register directly through CUNYfirst. CUNY students will need to file an e-Permit before registering.

Visiting students who are not enrolled at QC or another CUNY campus must complete the Visiting Student Application.

Claim your CUNYfirst account

Once your visiting student application is accepted, claim your CUNYfirst account. CUNYfirst is an online registration system for managing your courses and checking your grades. Detailed instructions about CUNYfirst will be emailed to you.


Register for your Summer Session course through

Summer Session Visiting Students can begin registering on April 3, 2017.

A nonrefundable application fee will be added to your tuition when you register, $65 for undergrad and $125 for grad.

Financial Aid

You may be able to use your current financial aid award toward Summer Session classes. Financial aid is awarded through your home college, so visiting and CUNY students should contact their home college’s Financial Aid Office after their application has been accepted.

QC students should contact Financial Aid for instructions on how to apply for aid.​


Credit Limitations

There are limits on the number of credits for which students may enroll during Summer Session. These vary for the different sessions as shown in the table below. Undergraduate students seeking to exceed those limits should appeal to the Undergraduate Scholastic Standards Committee (USSC) at least three days before registering. Graduate Students may appeal to the Dean of Graduate Studies.

1L  9 credits

Note: 15 credits is the maximum that may be taken by any student, in any combination of the three sessions.

Short term summer rentals are available at the Summit Residence Hall on the beautiful Queens College campus.
