Applying for the TEACH Grant at Queens College
Step One
If you are eligible to apply based on the above requirements, the process begins with completing the FAFSA application. Students interested in the TEACH Grant at Queens College should file the 2012-2013 FAFSA application immediately--and resolve all edits and documentation requirements with Financial Aid Services--as soon as possible. File your FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.gov.
Step Two
Information about the TEACH Grant as well as the Entrance Counseling and Agreement to Serve that you must complete are on the federal government's website at https://teach-ats.ed.gov/ats/index.action. If you are interested in applying for the TEACH Grant, complete these web-based processes now.
More information on a student's general award eligibility as well as other program regulations is available at http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/TEACH.jsp.
Please pay careful attention to all requirements and the timetable for completing them. Pay special attention to the service requirements and service documentation requirements, as well as to the conditions under which this grant could become an expensive loan. NOTE: Once the grant becomes a loan, it CANNOT be changed back to a grant.
Step Three
If you are still interested in the TEACH Grant after completing the first two steps, an ADDITIONAL APPLICATION and an interview process is required. Your request for a TEACH Grant is not complete without it.
Step Four
You will be contacted for an interview with a representative of QC Financial Aid Services.
