Queens College provides a rigorous education in the liberal arts and sciences. All applicants must demonstrate their ability to handle college-level work. Successful candidates have maintained an average of B+ or higher in a high school curriculum that featured math (3 years), English (4 years), lab science (2 years), social studies (4 years), and foreign language (3 years).
Admission is based on a variety of factors, including high school grades, academic program, and SAT or ACT scores. New York State GED recipients may apply to QC if they earn a score of 350 or better on the equivalency exam and corresponding high school units. Applicants who are not native English speakers should submit their scores on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language).

Queens College awards six undergraduate degrees—Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Arts in Social Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Music, and Bachelor of Science—and offers combined BA/MA programs in several departments. Students have their choice of more than 60 majors organized into four divisions: Arts and Humanities; Education; Mathematics and the Natural Sciences; and the Social Sciences.
Interdisciplinary programs, such as women’s studies, the various ethnic studies, and QC’s unique business and liberal arts minor, draw on courses across divisions. Special programs and advisement are available for individuals planning careers in accounting, engineering, law, and the health professions. In addition to participating in the Macaulay Honors College—a CUNY-wide initiative—QC has its own honors programs for outstanding students.
With spring and fall semesters, a winter session, and two summer sessions, the campus is active throughout the year; classes are held day and night to accommodate students with demanding schedules. Whether you are returning to school, or just trying to find time for it, QC has special programs.
