Page Content  The Path Queens College offers a provisional admission option for students who do not meet the minimum English language requirement. Undergraduate transfer students and some graduate program applicants are eligible. If students meet the admission requirements to get into this program, they will first study intensive English to reach their language goals and then become full-time undergraduate or graduate students.
Phase I:
|
Apply to the QC/ELI Path First 50 Applicants: Review is limited to the first 50 undergraduate and the first 50 graduate applications received. (Summer sessions I and II combined are considered one semester.) Applications should be made well in advance to be sure of review.
1. Undergraduate Path: Transfer students with at least 30 credits preferred. Students under 30 credits may be considered but must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 and a high school GPA of 85% or higher.

Phase II:

English Language Institute (ELI) Students are accepted into the QC/ELI Path program and begin their studies at the English Language Institute.

Phase III:
|
Preparing for Matriculation
1. Undergraduate Path: Upon passing the equivalent of level 6 of the ELI with a Certificate of Attendance and/or by achieving the target TOEFL score, students will be able to matriculate as full-time students at Queens College.
2. Graduate Path: Upon passing the equivalent of level 6 of the ELI with a Certificate of Attendance and/or by achieving the target TOEFL score, students will be able to matriculate into most programs that require TOEFL score of 500. For graduate programs requiring a TOEFL score higher than 500, students must retake the TOEFL test before full matriculation. In addition, some degrees have specific requirements that must be met prior to full matriculation. See the Graduate Program Requirements at a Glance for full details.

Intensive English at the ELI Fall/Spring = 4 days a week for approximately 15 weeks (18 hours a week) Summer I & II = 4 days a week for approximately 11.5 weeks (24 hours a week)
Test Preparation Class 1 day a week for 7 weeks (2 hours a week) TOEFL Preparation Workshop for the Graduate Path

Nonrefundable Application FeesUndergraduate Path: A $120 USD international application fee must be submitted with the application package. Checks or money orders must be payable to Queens College. Students who are accepted into the program will be required to submit an additional $70 USD application fee for entry into CUNY/UAPC system. Instructions provided upon acceptance.
Graduate Path: A $245 USD international graduate application fee must be submitted with the application package. Checks or money orders must be payable to Queens College.

An application will be sent via email. To see a list of required documents, click here. Final admission to the QC/ELI Path will depend on the students’ qualifications based on the application materials submitted. Students must return the completed application, along with all necessary documents and fees, no later than the semester application deadline noted above.
