Alumni Spotlight: Careers in Academia as Historians

Over the years,
many Queens College graduates have gone on to careers as historians
. They include some of the most prominent scholars of the post-World War II era.

Many were much like Queens College students today: children of immigrants, from working-class families, the first members of their families to attend college. Their record of achievement is extraordinary.

The following list, compiled by Professor Joshua Freeman, is a work in progress. We welcome additional names of Queens College alumni historians.

Alumni Spotlight: Antonio Muñoz

Antonio Muñoz earned both his B.A. and M.A. in history at Queens College. His 2008 M.A. thesis was titled “Murderers in Field Grey: German army war crimes in the rear area of army group south, 1941-1942.” He is currently a student in St. John’s Doctor of Arts Program in Modern World History.

Visit the St. John's website to read more about Mr. Muñoz’ success in his doctoral program.
