Master of Science in Early Childhood Education with Bilingual Extension
Program Requirements
The Master of Science in Childhood Education Degree with a Bilingual Extension is designed for teachers that have their NYS Certificate in Childhood Education 1-6 and that in addition to their interest in pursuing the studies that will lead them to the professional certification; they are interested in a Bilingual Extension to their certificate area.
Admission requirements and prerequisites
To be admitted in this program, applicants are required to:
- Hold a current NYS Initial Certificate in Childhood Education 1-6.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Be proficient in a language other than English. This proficiency must be in the language in which the applicant is seeking the bilingual extension

Upon the completion of this program and documented proof of experience in a Bilingual Setting, candidates are eligible for the NYS Bilingual Extension to the Certificate in Childhood Education 1-6.
