 Bilbao: International Marketing

          Conducted in English

This course teaches students how to collect information and analyze the marketing process and strategies that companies use when marketing their products in different countries. In addition, students will learn how to determine potential threats and opportunities in a global environment that both local and global companies should be aware of. Upon completing this course, students should be able to: - Understand the impact of environmental factors such as culture, legal systems etc. on international marketing; - Understand international trade theories and terminology; - Understand the structure of the global marketplace (e.g. emerging vs. developed economies); - Analyze unique and common aspects of different countries; - Identify, interpret and evaluate data sources of international marketing information; - Discuss ethical dilemmas faced by global companies; - Write a feasibility study and marketing for entry in another country.

Located in the picturesque Basque country of northern Spain, 45 minutes from the famous beaches of San Sebastian and an hour away from France, Bilbao is an ideal site for students who wish to deepen their knowledge and understanding of international business. The poster city for successful urban renovation, Bilbao has transformed itself dramatically over the last decade into a cutting-edge, cosmopolitan banking and service center, with world-class museums and art galleries, gleaming subways, futuristic music halls, and a modern airport. Situated in the foothills of a beautiful green mountain range facing the ocean, where it is possible to hike in the morning and go swimming in the afternoon, Bilbao is a wonderful place to live and study.
